The Last Man on Earth season 4 finale is a funny and emotional episode with a great cliffhanger that left us wanting more.

On The Last Man on Earth Season 4 Episode 18, the gang leaves their dangerous home in Zihuatanejo for Cancun. On their journey, they stop near the avocado and orange trees and decide to make their home there.

Mike leaves the gang in search of more people, but in a great cliffhanger, the group comes face-to-face with the people who crawled out of the underground bunker.

Hidden Dangers - The Last Man on Earth

The season finale was a classic, well-rounded episode of the series, with hilarious one-liners but an emotional punch at the end.

I was, of course, devastated to see Mike leave the gang again.

It was a bit easier to watch, though, since this time, the group did not leave him as he was "dying."

It is nice to know he will definitely return at some point.

I feel like Mike is still a little bit lonely so I think it might be nice if we, you know, keep the PDA to a minimum. I mean, for instance, Carol and I have decided that every time we want to kiss, we're just gonna shake hands instead. It's actually been pretty erotic. After all, you know the palm is the vagina of the hand.

Mike wanted to leave to continue searching for more people, but as soon as he left, dozens of people showed up at the gang's new home.

This made his departure even more upsetting.

Hopefully, Mike will find what he is looking or return to the group quickly so he can meet the others.

Speaking of the new people, I loved the ominous cliffhanger to the season.

It definitely made me want to watch the next episode.

It does make me a little nervous, though, because The Last Man on Earth has not been renewed yet.

Back in December, the series was a tossup for renewal, and the ratings have not changed too much since then.

Tandy: What do you mean we're moving?
Todd: The house is filled with dead bodies sealed up in the walls. It's like a gingerbread house made of corpses, bud.
Erica: And guns! All over the place. You'd swear we were still in America.

Hopefully, Fox will announce its renewal soon. Otherwise, it would be a terrible ending to a beloved series.

If the series is renewed, I hope the new people will not be evil or threatening to the gang.

It might make for good television, but I would find it hard to believe that humans would want to kill others in a world that has already lost most of its population.

"Cancun, Baby!" included fantastic ensemble moments.

Each person was present throughout the episode, and they all spent most of their time as a group.

Well, the last time I was on a train, I was smuggling a duffle bag full of endangered turtles.

In the past few weeks, we have seen many duos or trios separating from the rest of the gang so it was delightful for them all to be together for most of the time.

Each person had a chance to shine, and there were many one-liners and laugh-out-loud moments. In fact, I had a difficult time choosing which quotes I was going to post for this episode, which was not an issue last week.

I have talked a lot about how much I love Melissa in my reviews, but one thing I have failed to mention is how much I adore that she is an outdoors girl.

With her blonde hair and nearly perfect looks, it would be easy to make Melissa a stereotypical "pretty girl" or dumb blonde.

She is the farthest thing from that, though. I love that she is the one who does the 21 gun salute at the funeral for the house and that she built the fire for the gang when Todd could not.

Mike: Hey Todd. Do you know how to build a fire?
Todd: Yeah, no problem! Do we have any oven mitts?
Melissa: I'll do it.

Melissa tends to be the most "normal" or strait-laced person in the group, if you want to call it that.

That does not mean, though, that she is boring or the traditional blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman we so often see in the media.

It makes her a fascinating and lovable character, even when she is not being as quirky or hilarious as the others in the group.

My only complaint is that they left Jasper without telling him their location.

Melissa told Todd she gave him a self-driving car with the coordinates to Cancun, but now that the gang decided to set up their home elsewhere, Jasper will not be able to find them if he does try to meet up with them.

Carol: Well, how was your trip? Did you find any people?
Tandy: Hate to say it, Carebear, but we're all still fighting a raging case of HPV. Human people vanished.

I adore Jasper, and I worry about his safety now that Melissa is no longer there to bring him food or help him out.

I hope they go back to Zihuatanejo to give him the new coordinates or at least to give him some of the fresh food they are enjoying in their new home.

Overall, "Cancun, Baby!" was an entertaining finale, with a thrilling cliffhanger that makes me ready for next season!

Fox, please renew this heartwarming show as soon as possible. I need more of these quirky characters.
